Birdhike home

Julia is Marti's son Peter's daughter. She was born February 27, 2002, the day after we bought our house in Boulder.
Peter, Haeran, and Julia moved back to Vienna, Virginia in August 2007 after living in Seoul, South Korea for three years. The timing was perfect for Julia to start kindergarten in the U.S.

SEOUL, Julia turns 5. The children are watching a magician perform at her birthday party.
HONOLULU, April. Marti met Peter, Haeran and Julia there during a conference Peter was attending.
Trying to convince Julia that Grandma's hair is not totally gray as she drew it during her plane trip, but still has some brown! Now Julia uses brown and gray crayons for Marti's hair.
Hawaii girl. Julia loved the 99 cent plastic lei Marti gave her when they met at the hotel.
We enjoyed the tropical birds on the grounds of resort hotels near the beach.

VIENNA, VIRGINIA, August. Table percussion band. She liked making different sounds on various objects.
Swinging in the play area near their home, just before going to the airport. We loved seeing cardinals there again.
Meadowlark Gardens in Vienna, Children's Garden. Marti takes her there every summer.
